Karoo Windpompie is a family-run guesthouse in the heart of Fraserburg in the Northern Cape. Named after the classic Karoo windpomp that still stands as a symbol of resilience and self-reliance, we offer simple, comfortable self-catering accommodation for travellers who want to experience the real Karoo.
Our two properties – the Woonstel and the Huis – give guests the freedom to come and go as they please. Both units are fully equipped so you can prepare your own meals, braai under the stars, and enjoy the quiet of a small Karoo town.
Whether you’re a birdwatcher, a photographer, a road-tripper, or simply looking for a peaceful place to rest, you’re welcome here. We also run JJ’s Kafee in town, making it easy to stock up on essentials during your stay.
